I find this technique very interesting, and actually it’s not that hard to do. Tapestry or guided thread consists of working, at the same time, with threads of the colors required by the drawing.
Thus, while weaving with one color, the threads of the other colors “walk” through the stitches of the color being weaved. When it’s time to change colors, pick up the color you walked with, start weaving with that color and the other color you were weaving with, will now walk through the stitches of the new color.
That is why it is called “guided wire”, as one or more wires are guided inside the points of the color being worked on. It looks a lot more complicated than it really is

I made the sunflower graphic and with the different colors to be very clear when it is necessary to change colors. The mat is all worked in high stitches and the last blank round is the low stitches (“x” in the graph).
