QUILT BLOCKQUILT PATTERNS

Florabelle Bloom Quilt

The colors and prints of Florabelle are so rich and wonderful and I had a lot of fun inventing a design for this quilt from Florabelle Bloom that I think really highlights these impressive prints and beautiful colors:) And now I can share this design with all of you too:) So let’s go straight to the tutorial!

Start by pressing all your tissues: This really helps the precision in cutting and splicing. So from your 21 Fat Quarters pressed, choose 1 (I choose the Floral Gem in the Tucson print) to be your corner stone. The other 20 Fat Quarter will be your blocks. And now you’re ready to start cutting.

Of each of the 20 fat Quarter cuts: 4 squares 4 1/2 “x 4 1/2 ” 6 squares 3 “x 3 ” 5 Squares 2 1/2 “x 2 1/2 ” * I spend a fat 3-5 rooms at a time on my cutting mat for this to speed things up.

From your 1 cut of dashing Corner Stone Fat Quarter: 30 squares 2 1/2 “x 2 1/2 ” Of the white Yardage cut: 5 strips 4 1/2 “x WOF-Subcut in 80 rectangles 2 1/2 ” x 4 1/2 “9 strips 3 ” x WOF-Subcut in 120 squares 3 “x 3 ” 10 strips 2 1/2 “x WOF-Subcut in 160 squares 2 1/2 ” x 2 1/2 “3 strips 14 1/2 ” x WOF- Subcut in 49 rectangles 2 1/2 “x 14 1/2 ” From its solid Gray cut 8 strips 2 1/2 “x width of the fabric for your connection.
